Class DateAndTime has no quick form support ?????

Postby marten » Tue Nov 21, 2006 12:48 am

Considering the fact, that DateAndTime can be seen as the
future ANSI based class for timestamps, it is surprising to
see, that this class has no support for quick forms.

I think, that this is definitely missing !? How can I fix this ?

Hi, Marten,

Yes, you are correct. DateAntTime does not have a quick form.

I'll add it as an enhancement for our next bugfix release.

I tried to change that for myself - but DateAndTime is placed in the
Kernel application and it is not possible/allowed to add the needed
Abt informations into that. The Public Interface Builder is not able
to place code there.

The only solution seems to be to add a subclass in a total different
application (like AbtTimestamp) and do all stuff there.

Can't you extend DateAndTime in an application other than Kernel?

Yes, this is no problem - but I also wanted to create an interface to that
class using the public interface editor, but this is not possible.

It wants to write the source to AbtRunPartsApp - and totally fails, when
creating the PRAGMA methods in that application.

Marten -

Did you create a new edition of AbtRunPartsApp and also create an extension of DateAndTime in the new edition of AbtRunPartsApp before trying to create the public interface? I did that and the PRAGMA and other methods seem to be created properly then.

Good, I'm glad it worked out for you. I suspect Instantiations would happily accept your code for inclusion in a future release if you send it to them.
