Datasource

Postby rernst » Sat Oct 17, 2009 1:53 pm

Hi,

not sure whether this is a general GWT question or specific to the GWT designer setup: I understand Jetty is the hosted mode server. According to my understanding I should be able to configure a Datasource in a context/xml. (I can make JDBC calls just fine using loading the driver, creating a connection, etc.). However, this seems to create a lot of overhead, especially with a network connection (seconds). So I'd like to use connection pooling and just pick a connection from there. For this I need to define a Datasource and reference it from my web.xml.

I have seen various hints on this in the GWT forums and books but none of them seem applicable to my particular environment. Does the GWT Designer plugin modify some of the paths or how the hosted mode server is initiated? Where is the server located?

Sorry if this question does not pertain to Designer mods, I am also pursuing in the GWT forums.

Sounds like a general GWT question.
