Gwt Designer 7.1b and GXT Lock Up Issues

Postby scarlson » Tue Oct 06, 2009 5:57 am

Hello All --

I accidentally posted this on the tail of a different thread, so I am re-posting here..

I just installed the latest Gwt Designer 7.1b with the latest commercial version of GXT. I keep hard locking eclipse. Here is my process,
New Java Project
Convert to GWT Project
Add Composite
Configure for GXT
Then in design mode I start with a composite and add either

In the Designer View:
Add LayoutContainer
Add BorderLayout
Locks, have to task manager kill the process.

Add ContentPanel
Add BorderLayout
Locks ...

Am I missing something here? I am trying more cases, but it is slow process.

Thanks,
Scott

I found the slow response when switch between source and design view as well. However in over all, I still be able to use it with out system lock.
Some of my colleague real like that they have to start new and clean eclipse workspace to avoid system lock.
Perhaps this plug in may be conflict with the other.

A bout the performance, I hope they will find the way to improve it when this version release.

Try adding a GXT panel to a GXT Composite instead.

It appears that GXT panels don't like to be added directly to GWT Composites using initWidget().

Thanks, that was the issue, plus I was surprised to find the 7.2 update! Working great!

I believe that combination of GWT Composite and GXT components also works in latest GWT Designer build.
