GWT/Wicket/JSF

Hi,
I have some queries regarding the UI design using Java(GWT/Wicket/JSF).

Recently i just had a look at the Java based web application frameworks like GWT, Wicket and JSF.

In a typical web application development, the web designer will be designing the static web pages and give them to the developers. The developers will change those pages to display the dynamic data. This is because a java developer may not design web pages beautifully.

But the above mentioned frameworks are evolved based on the idea of designing the UI components using Java code and maintaining the state of the components on Server.

My questions are :

1. Doesn't it be a problem to change the Java Code for any small change in the UI if we build UI using Java UI components
2. How beautiful will the UI be that is developed by a Java Developer???

I could not understand the benefits of using Component Oriented Frameworks like GWT/Wicket/JSF over the request-response driven frameworks like Struts/SpringMVC.

My dear Java Gurus,
Please throw some light on the above queries and give me your opinions.

No.

That question seems oddly insulting. There is no reason that the UI can't be quite beautiful.

I know many Java developers with much better developed senses of aesthetics than some web designers I know.

BTW, your post is off topic for this forum. Please restrict yourself to GWT Designer related questions here.

To add some value to this thread:

If you are in a team where a designer is in charge of creating html and css and a developer later on turns that into a working UI, this article from the GWT blog might be a good read.
