GWT Designer and existing project.

Postby nopalot » Fri Jul 27, 2007 11:29 pm

Hi Folks,

since i did all of my coding using vi, i am completly new to Eclipse. So please excuse this question if it seems too simple.
I based my project on the kitchen sink example that ships with gwt. Now i'd like to work with GWT Desginger on the project, but i don't know how to create/import it into GWT Designer. Is it possible to import an modify my handcrafted ui's into GWT Designer? If yes, could you please describe the required steps to do so?
Thank you verry much for your assistance!

You can convert an existing project to a GWT Designer project using the Convert project into GWT project command.

You can open an existing class using the Open With > Designer Editor command.

Designer is very effective at reverse engineering 90% of hand written Java and GWT code. If you have an example that does not work with Designer, it may be possible to modify it to work with Designer. In those cases, send us a test case and your complete Eclipse ".log" file.
