Back error when searching and reading these forum posts

Postby cochand » Mon Jul 18, 2005 1:05 pm

Searching and reading posts on these Instantiation forums is difficult.

After reading one of the posts matching my search, I want to hit the "Back" button in my IE browser to go back to the search result list. Every time I click "Back", I get a "page cannot be displayed" error.

Am I missing something???

Did you try hitting Refresh?

Yes. Refresh just takes me to the default Search page. It doesn't work that way for you/others?

When I hit Refresh, I see the Search Results page.

The behavior you see could certainly be browser specific.

I'm using IE 6.0.3790.1830. Maybe it has something to do with my IE settings, which are mostly the defaults as far as I know.

I go to http://www.swt-designer.com/forum/search.php
I enter something like treeitem in the search box.
I hit Search.
I get 3 results (on a page called http://www.swt-designer.com/forum/searc ... de=results)
I click on the first, Associate PopupMenu with an SWT TreeItem ( http://www.swt-designer.com/forum/viewt ... t=treeitem )
I hit the Back button and end up on http://www.swt-designer.com/forum/searc ... de=results, which says "The page cannot be displayed."
I hit Back again, and end up back on
http://www.swt-designer.com/forum/search.php, where I have to reenter the search.

Anyway, it's not a showstopper, just inconvenient.

Rather than hitting the Back button, hit Refresh instead. That should redisplay the seacrh results.
