We include some of our gui plugins as binary plugins with a source plugin to save compile time. Our developers would like to use the designer for these class files too. Beside the source code they would like to see how the composite defined by the java class looks like.
Its there a way to set the file associations of the eclipse to do this?

Unfortunately, the editor can only be used with .java files. It will not work with .class files.
