The click action fails 8 out of 10 runs

Postby pravsubr » Fri May 22, 2009 2:55 pm

Hi folks,

As a part of a system, it tries to open the launch configuration dialog by clicking on the "Open Launch Configruation". Only 2 out of 10 runs, it successfully invokes the action.

Are we missing something here?

Details:

The exact line of code is :
ui.click(new PullDownMenuItemLocator("Item A", new ContributedToolItemLocator(id)))

Curious!

Can you characterize the failure? Is there an associated stack-trace? Does it happen consistently in the same place(s)?

Hi Phil,

There is no error. The test case is something as below. It printed out "post-click" message, but didn't open the configuration page.

System.out.println(" pre-click " + MENU_CUSTOMIZECONFIG);
ui.click(new PullDownMenuItemLocator("Item A", new ContributedToolItemLocator(id)))
System.out.println(" post-click" + MENU_CUSTOMIZECONFIG);

I have to use the following code to open configuration page.
public static void openConfig()
{
PlatformUI.getWorkbench().getDisplay().asyncExec(new Runnable(){

@Override
public void run() {
DebugUITools.openLaunchConfigurationDialogOnGroup(PlatformUI.getWorkbench()
.getActiveWorkbenchWindow().getShell(), null, ID_LAUNCHGROUP, null);
}});
}

Thanks for the elaboration. Once we get the details from your other post (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2798) we'll have more to go on and will dig into a local repro.
